This week Russell interviews Dr. Sharel Sly. Sharel is a native New Orleanian who practices in Houston, TX. We discuss her journey from NOLA to Houston and the type of practice she is trying to build. Russell gets some tips on how to run a practice without a hygienist. Both of us talk about patients who get dentistry done by fake dentists or who go out of the country to get major work done. Finally, we talk about our own DA extern horror stories.
Sharel also runs a group called private group called Sistahs in Dentistry and her office is Hermann Park Smiles.
This week Clint and Russell interview Jimmy and Courtney Nelson from Metairie, LA. Jimmy is dentist in Metairie, LA and Courtney runs their office. The four of us talk about the fun of dealing with rude patients as well as the more fun part of kicking their butts to the curb. We especially love it when they beg to come back. As Russell is doing this podcast from his office rather than his home, Courtney and Jimmy's dog takes the place of Lucas and makes a guest appearance. Finally, Courtney gives us "Just the Tip" on how to travel better.
Their office's website is at www.nelsondentalcarela.com and both can be found on FB and IG.
Clint and Russ interview Dr. Danny Domingue this week. Russell's computer went on the fritz which is the reason for the low quailty audio. We apologize in advance! We talk about how tequila is an amazing drink and the benefits of doing amphetamines. Finally we discuss implant stuffs and fawn over the brilliance of Cory Glenn. If you want to see upcoming classes that Danny is offering, go to either Digital Dental Masters or Implants Black and White for course dates. Both Clint and Russell have taken Danny's classes and highly recommend them!
Robert Appel is a man of fine taste who enjoys music. He is a U of M Wolvervine who went to Case Western for his DMD and now practices as a dentist in Humble, Texas. We talk about his journey to Texas and how he tries to find his niche in his area. We discuss the fun of both firing employees and firing former practice owners.
This week Russell and Clint interview Megan Weisenberger, DMD out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Weisenberger discusses her journey into being the 4th owner of a dental practice as well as how she learned how to do great ortho. Small spoiler, she got her start with orthodontics from the GP Ortho guru Dr. Matthew Standridge. That being said, Dr. Weisenberger certainly stands on her own and teaches introductory courses for Sure Smiles.
We discuss how awesome (and maybe sexy?) Joe Burrow is and how to deal with creepy patients. Russell lamets how LSU GPR program is bad and Clint talks about traveling with kids.
